TOEM: A Photo Adventure review - "Charming puzzle adventure"
TOEM: A Photo Adventure review - "Charming puzzle adventure"I am often a fan of longer, more quest-based adventures, but do not find many that fit that category on my mobile phone. I am delighted to say that TOEM: A Photo Adventure fits the brief and delivers a fun, quest-based journey that's on the longer side, even if you are trying to rush through it. In TOEM: A Photo Adventure, you are given a small camera and let loose on the world to take pictures and solve little puzzles in a bunch of different locations. This feels more open-world, with tons of different characters to talk to, animals to take pictures of, and moments to discover. ... [ MORE ]

Spooky Express review - "Perfectly timed for Halloween"
Spooky Express review - "Perfectly timed for Halloween"The creators of Spooky Express, Draknek & Friends, are very well known for their puzzlers. This one specifically reminds me a lot of Cosmic Express - but with a spooky twist! Instead of getting aliens from one station to another, you are getting spooky creatures and humans to their destination. Best puzzle games for Android phones and tablets ... [ MORE ]

Gunnar The Witcher: White Wolf glasses review - "Keeping your eyes strain-free across The Continent"
Gunnar The Witcher: White Wolf glasses review - "Keeping your eyes strain-free across The Continent"I started striking down evil sorcerers and saving the world across hundred-hour quests at a very young age, and while my epic adventures will forever be immortalised in my own personal hall of fame that no one else will ever really see, my conquests come at a price.  I've been sporting the geekiest glasses since I was in kindergarten, and no, my spectacles weren't even the cool character-designed ones with Hello Kitty's ears on the front. They were wide-rimmed, thick, and made of the heaviest metal known to man, so suffice it to say I've been in a love-hate relationship with my glasses for most of my life. ... [ MORE ]

Hitman: Absolution review - "Escaping the agency via another platform!"
Hitman: Absolution review - "Escaping the agency via another platform!"There's a scary number of people who fantasise about being the ultimate assassin, and maybe someone somewhere should be keeping an eye on them. IO Interactive is both responsible for this and the only reason they aren't acting on these fantasies. Their Hitman series has been releasing titles featuring a born-and-bred assassin who uses everything from a silenced pistol to a rubber duck to accomplish the job. Although Hitman: Absolution was initially released in 2012, it has since been updated to thrive on mobile platforms. It marked a significant change in the series' quality, so let's see how it holds up on some of the lighter devices. ... [ MORE ]

Boox Palma 2 review - "The reader-turned-gaming device I didn't know I needed"
Boox Palma 2 review - "The reader-turned-gaming device I didn't know I needed"Perhaps the title of this piece alone already tells you the gist of the review, but what might've made you click on it is the shock value - and no, it's not clickbait at all. The Boox Palma 2, while meant to be an e-ink device made for reading, has become my go-to gaming device when I'm unwinding at the end of a long and tiring day. Table of contents: ... [ MORE ]

Set a Watch review - "Become the best camper you can be"
Set a Watch review - "Become the best camper you can be"An unintended consequence of certain titles is that they make us think that we could be suited to jobs that we would never have considered before we decided to play. Give us access to an alien army from the future, and we'll convince ourselves that we can lead a modern-day military squadron to victory. Of course, we won't put ourselves in the midst of it, but we'll trust that our legitimate strategic thinking will keep all our units alive (or at least our favourite ones). At least with Acram, they're trying to give us a more realistic strategic challenge with Set a Watch. ... [ MORE ]

Blue Protocol: Star Resonance review - “This could be the best action RPG on mobile”
Blue Protocol: Star Resonance review - “This could be the best action RPG on mobile”These days, it feels like we get an action gacha RPG for every three games produced, and most of those are remarkably similar - some might even say that they're blatant cash grabs. These cynical thoughts circled when Blue Protocol: Star Resonance was announced, so much so that when I was presented with the chance to review it, I thought for sure I wouldn’t like it. Well, I guess that even I can be wrong. You can be almost anything you want to be ... [ MORE ]

Pine Hearts review - "Emotional game with lots of adventure"
Pine Hearts review - "Emotional game with lots of adventure"Pine Hearts is a cosy game that ticks a lot of boxes for me. It's got a story that isn't too imposing, a ton of side quests, and lots of places to explore. Here, you play as Tyke, a character who is returning to a childhood national park in order to climb a big mountain. This park brings back a lot of memories for you, as you get ready to take on this massive achievement, which brings back thoughts of your late father.  The park isn't full of your family necessarily, but it is full of characters that need a bit of help. A crow has stolen a grandmother's glasses, a slightly chaotic local is looking to capture proof of a forest monster, and some children want something fun to spin on. ... [ MORE ]

Ugreen MagFlow 3-in-1 Wireless Charger review - "For those with so many devices and so little time"
Ugreen MagFlow 3-in-1 Wireless Charger review - "For those with so many devices and so little time"As I go through my day-to-day adulting duties, it's getting harder and harder to remember to charge my devices until I absolutely need them, only to find that they're out of juice. I'm not exactly sure if it's just me being lazy or my failing multitasking abilities - or it might simply be because technology has spoiled me and I've become dependent on the quick-charging overlords to manage my devices for me. My phone, of course, is the most important of those many devices, which is why Ugreen's MagFlow 3-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Desktop Charger 25W is a welcome peripheral to have during aforementioned low-battery moments. ...
