Nintendo finally confirms release date of new Mario Kart World game It’s-a time to put the pedal to the metal, because Mario Kart World is coming on June 5th, 2025 . It’s been a surprisingly long time since we’ve heard anything about the next installment of the most iconic racing game on the planet, which isn’t altogether surprising, considering MK8 is one of the best-selling video games of all time. Over 67 million of us have been zooming off the Rainbow Road track, but now we finally have confirmation that the next race is on the horizon. We’ve been keeping an eye on the checkered flag while we’ve been busy playing through our picks of the best Switch racing games . But if, like us, you’ve been waiting for news on a new Mario game , then that wait is almost over, because Nintendo has announced that there's a Mario Kart World Direct on April 17, 2025 . It’s hardly surprising, as pretty much everyone thought that MK9 would be a launch title for the Switch 2 , but we’re also hopeful that the new entry to the flagship franchise will be backward-compatible with the original Switch console. We got our first glimpse of MK World when the first look trailer for the Switch 2 came out, and now that we’ve got confirmation on a direct, we’re looking forward to finding out even more about the latest racer. We’ve heard heaps of rumors, including a fuel management system, new power-ups, the return of kart customization, and the potential for a 24-player race. Elden Ring is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 Tarnsied, it’s time to rise once more as Elden Ring is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 later this year, proving to be one of the more surprising announcements from the showcase. I, for one, can’t wait to revisit The Lands Between. Elden Ring first came out in 2022, quickly cementing itself as one of the best Soulslike games you can play, with its DLC further supporting that upon its release in 2024. While we don’t have a solid release date for the game on Nintendo Switch 2 , we know that Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition is coming to the console sometime this year. You play as a Tarnished whose mission it is to become Elden Lord, following what I can only describe as a huge mess courtesy of Queen Marika. It features a vast open world where danger lurks around every corner and bosses await to put an end to your journey. Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, see you in Night City chooms Chooms, the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct dropped some excellent news; we’re all heading to Night City to join V as they take the fight to Arasaka. Cyberpunk 2077 is one of my favorite games of all time. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve visited the place where legends are born, and I can’t wait to do it again on the Switch successor. Without a doubt, Cyberpunk 2077 is about to be one of the best Switch RPGs you can play, which should come as little surprise given how beloved CD Projekt Red’s action game is, even if it didn’t have the best start in 2020. Sure, the game was buggy as all hell and crashed every hour, but I still pumped 144 hours into it and got my shiny platinum trophy. Since then, the devs have released numerous patches and updates, giving us all the experience they promised, so it's in a brilliant position to land on the Nintendo Switch 2 . Better still, the Phantom Liberty DLC comes as part of the package, and trust me when I say it’s one the best expansions you can play, but after The Witcher 3’s Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine DLCs, you probably expect quality DLC from CD Projekt Red at this point.
